We're celebrating our sixth year offering coffee from Armando Ventura! His farm, Finca El Guachipilín, is named after a resilient native shade tree and is located in the mountains of Santa Elena, Honduras, near the Salvadoran border.
Through the Catracha Coffee project, Armando is able to sell his coffee as a traceable microlot under his own name and receive better prices that reflect the quality of his work. He has rebuilt his farm and invested in his own micro-mill, allowing him to oversee every step of processing.
After harvest, ripe coffee cherries rest overnight before being depulped. The coffee is then fermented for 24 hours, washed, and slowly dried on raised beds for approximately 15 days, bringing out its bright, sweet character.
